Take Me Away

Wednesday afternoon I went to Berkeley with my sister and Huey. We did a little shopping, had falafel, and got frozen yogurt. It was delicious and the weather was a nice change from the sweltering Sacramento heat.

I totally forgot about how last Thursday we welcomed Nick back from his month long trip around Europe! My mom cooked him a Chinese feast, which we all loved. Then we hung out and saw The Ugly Truth. It was funny how it was supposed to take place and was filmed in Sacramento! It got me thinking about relationships. We often act how we want others to perceive us, so in a way we change ourselves to fit others. Then eventually, they'll like who they think we are. What we should be looking for is people who like us for ourselves. So, if people don't like me because I am sarcastic, use hand sanitizer often, memorize what people wear, or crack my back - whatever, I don't need you in my life.

Insomnia

These nails took forever to do freehand. Gold with sparkly bronze tips. Something to do while I was awake.

After the newspaper is delivered, the sun comes out, and the birds start to chirp is when I can actually go to sleep. It's currently 4:02 am and as normal people sleep, I'm playing with my iphone and listening to Amanda Blank.

I just got this "What to Wear" application which is basically a closet organizer. I can take pictures of my clothes and plan outfits accordingly. All the reviews said it was dumb/stupid, but I'm thinking it could be useful when all my clothes are folded into tiny little sausages in my dorm room and I want to decide what to wear. We'll see how this works out.

I could go on and on about all the other apps I have, but I know it's not really interesting. Especially to people that don't have iphones. Haha sorry. I'll post about more exciting things later.

My background is a map from here to Irvine. Obviously I'm excited!

Rojaaaa

Thursday night we had to celebrate the fact that Andrew and I were done with summer school! Ah definitely a fun time. Brian was sooo wild. Which is always hilarious. Oh, those boys.

Last night Andrew popped in for a second accompanied by Johnathan Ross, Kyle Patterson, and Stephen Johnson. I haven't seen that guy in years. Crazy!

Then tonight I went bowling with Huey and her friends, which was interesting since I hadn't been in over a year. My score was horrible, but whatever. Then we played pool, which I also sucked at.

Tomorrow Huey and Nick are coming over to feast and chaos will ensue! So excited.

My Life Is Coming Together

Tonight I fixed my schedule of classes of the fall and as nerdy as it sounds, I'm so excited for school to start. And no, not just for social reasons. Yes, I want to meet new people and have life experiences, but I also want to learn and expand my mind. I've heard good reviews about my professors and I'm looking forward to getting an education for my future.

This past Friday and Saturday was SPOP (Student Parent Orientation Program) and as cheesy as it sounds, it was a life changing experience. I fell in love with the campus all over again and it just reassured me that I'm going to have the time of my life. My hall was filled with outgoing people that made my stay a constant party. We even had cheers and hand signals! The staffers were genuinely nice and willing to answer any of our questions. They organized a series of activities called "spOlympics" where we all broke into teams to win the prize. Turns out we all won 'street cred.' Haha then a good 10 or so of us stayed up ALL NIGHT talking, laughing, and playing games like 'Asa', fishbowl, watermelon, and 10 fingers. Actually, I lost in watermelon so I had to eat breakfast the next day without my hands... haha

On the last day we did deeper activities like cross the line and the touch game, which resulted in a room filled of tears. We all sat in a huge circle facing outwards and closed our eyes. A staffer read statements like "please touch someone who inspires you" or "please touch someone who doesn't know how beautiful they are" as a rotating group of 5 went around and tapped people. It was crazy how we all became so close in the mere 36 hours. I never thought people would feel such positive things about me, and it was crazy how we all impacted each other so greatly. Now we're all facebook friends of course, and I can't wait to see these people again in the fall!

I'm coming away from this experience with a million inside jokes and faith restored in humankind. The atmosphere is just so different down there. Everyone is nice and open to new things. I didn't feel judged once. There are nice people out there, and I can't wait to meet them all.

Thank God

My daily horoscope:

At first, it's harder than usual for you to let go of something that recently occurred. But things will improve, even if it takes a while for you to overcome your negativity. Keep in mind that forcing a positive change of attitude won't work today. Just let the events unfold while knowing that better times are on the way. Believe it or not, the Sun will appear and chase away the dark clouds.

Night Owl

I seriously need more friends that don't sleep like me. Haha I never update this because it takes too long. Twitter is taking over my life. You can follow me at http://twitter.com/queenofjuicy. Anyway, Huey comes back today from New York!! That little bz got to travel across the country as I sat around and daydreamed in summer school. Depressing. Also, Brian, Andrew, Ryan, and I have become gambleholics. I lost $100 today and Ryan almost lost $300! Yikessss. I was angry at myself earlier but now I'm over it. Yeah, that money could've been put towards my iphone or college, but whatever, at least I had fun. I seriously need to refrain from shopping. At least until back to school shopping starts. I'll just spend it on food ... but then again, that can actually be pretty pricy. I want froyo and jamba juice so bad right now. Ahhh.

I will leave you with my new life motto:

Second Saturday

Still don't understand the grand appeal of Second Saturday. I guess it's just another excuse to be drunk and smoke in public. It can be quite entertaining, but then again, I don't like looking around constantly checking that I won't be thrown up on or questioned by the cops.

Bad Eyes

I know all this MacBook time is killing my vision and I'm going to regret it in the future, but whatever I'm living in the moment. Which means I've been trying new things and talking to new people (well trying at least). This past week I won $47 in Blackjack, went to my first 18+ club, and did some art. Now I will resume to listening to my old school rap.

Cash4Gold

Life's been unnecessarily dramatic. Retail therapy seems to help.

Also, I've been reading Diggy's blog and it's pretty, in his words, DOPE!

All Smiles

Doing what makes me happy and enjoying life. Happy 4th of July! Barbeque and festivities tomorrow. Time for good food with good people.

Last night we celebrated Ryan's 18th birthday by going to Jackson Rancheria then hanging out. It was a really fun night, despite Brian's car getting a flat in the middle of a dark, abandoned road. I felt like I was in a horror movie, waiting to be killed. We all laughed about it after though. Long night that turned into morning. I didn't go to bed until 8:30AM. I think that's a record.

Push And Pull

Last night around this same time I had what I called a "life changing revelation." I was suddenly extremely motivated to make changes and prepare myself for my bright future ahead of me. I wanted to have fun and do what I wanted for once. But now, 24 hours later, I find myself deflated and searching for answers once again. I still don't understand how people can have so little regard for others with their actions and words. How can people tell such blatant lies? And better question - why do I always fall for it?

Light Bright

I want more neon clothes. Bought new Tikirani top and straw fedora at UO after having a delicious Thai dinner. The heat is unbearable so I spent my day lounging around. I can only have so much sun in one week.

In Communications 301 we had to pick a famous speech to present and I chose Elizabeth Cady Stanton's "The Destructive Male." So true. I got a 97/100 on my first Introduction speech. Whee!

Today at dinner my mom said, "Andrew's going to be the first one to leave since Berkeley starts in August." Of course I've known this but to hear that fact is sad to me! I'm going to Irvine with Courtney and Huey, but I'm leaving my other friends too. :( I guess that's what ichat is for though.

Not Official

It's not really summer yet until I have my blended strawberry lemonade from Starbucks. I have too much on my mind and need some quiet time alone to process it all. I want to sit outside at one of those tables and write in my journal but I'm afraid it's going to be too hot. We'll see how this works out.

Sin City

Vegas was a blast. I am so glad Huey came along. How could I have fun in Sin City without my partner in crime?  There are so many pictures but I decided to post these two because A) I love my new fedora B) I love my knotted silver top and strawberry daiquiris.

My new cruiser was fixed tonight so I plan to ride it a lot in the near future. Basket is perfect for Billy or picnic supplies.  I have so many things I want to do this summer, so I need to get crackin! I don't have time to waste.

The Airway

A little late, but I've officially graduated high school!  So done with tedious work and unnecessary drama.  I learned everything from all the countries of the world to just how shady people can be.  High school was ... an experience. I'm looking forward to the future.

Grad night at California and Disneyland was amaaaazing!  The bus ride was ridiculously long, but the rides were so fun and the lines actually weren't that long.  The worst was Space Mountain, but it was so worth it.  The all-nighter didn't throw off my sleep schedule at all since I never sleep anyway.

So, that night I planned to go to a party.  Little did I know I would have a near death experience and be in the center of a crime scene!  I forgot that a party isn't a party until someone gets stabbed and shot, my bad.

My house has once again proved to be a center for disaster.  Good thing I have a friend nice enough to help wash vomit out of the street.  However, this is also the friend who picked me up and tried to throw me in the pool!  Aih ... summer nights.

Leaving for Vegas tomorrow! Las Vegas better watch out!
